Magdalena Marron: A Space Opera

This project and tale were born from many fun things my daughter and I were working on and from my enjoyment of sharing the design and creative process with others. From that source we developed a space faring tale of a special spaceship that was designed with the task of delivering a small forrest of a plant that was saved from the brink of extinction to a planet across the galaxy.

The project was then given borders and restrictions. It was to be a high quality set of illustrations to resemble storyboards with the same aspect ratio of the original Star Wars movies, one of the biggest inspirations for the style of the art and design of this tale. The illustrations would be drawn and inked on 11 x 14 inch paper and it would be a total of about 15 panels.

With these limitations the project would then have confines to contain it while letting me explore what kind of tale I could tell between the pages’ edges. As I build the project further I will add to this page and continue telling the tale of how it was made and where many of the pieces of art are growing to. Until then, please enjoy the videos that were made to document the process as I have started the tale of this special ship called the Magdalena Marron!

The Goal: To create an epic space tale with exciting changes in story, beautiful galactic scenery and a unique story. In doing so I want to document and share with others how a story and project like this is designed, planned and executed so others can see just how possible it is to do for themselves!

The Videos below will describe the project and tell you more!
